With a Story to tell...
There was a love for stories and a love for puppets. I always knew they would make up a vital part of my career; this is something that has never changed.
Growing up in a one traffic-light, rural Georgia county of 11,000, the only professional performing arts to be viewed were touring shows coming through our public library.
From those small scale shows, I was hooked on the energy, power, and impact that comes from live performance. I began storytelling and working with puppets as means to have multiple characters. I didn’t realize it at the time, but the necessity of developing works by myself, forced me to create a unique aesthetic and process to how puppets are utilized and how stories are told.
A quest for simplicity and sustainability drives my work, and pushes me to find ever creative ways to bring performance art out of a traditional theater space, and into something much more tangible, tactile, and direct from the artistic source.
